Check out this track by Snoop Dogg called "That's Da Homie" for his up and coming album "Malice in Wonderland":

Definitely one crazy beat by Danja.
But listen to it closely and you'll find one sound that Danja also uses in Keri Hilson's "Knock You Down".
You found it? Yes? No? Well, I tell you. Jump to sec. 40 on "Kock You Down". Then you hear this pitched synth that gets higher and higher (if you know what I mean).
You hear that same pitched up synth on "That's Da Homie" at around 10 seconds.
Yep, just that you now. ;)
What do you think of the track?

WOW! Danja has got alot goin on there! SICK! Beat is sick but dont like the chorus.
wow the beat is insane!!!
Danja needs to switch it up again. This "Hurt"/"Knock You Down" sound ain't working that well any more.
Danja's coming off more as the wack version of Drumma Boy than Danja right now. Not to mention his beats don't have me at hello much anymore. He shouldn't have to struggle so hard to make a hot hip-hop beat. More and more hip-hop producers are using synths; he shouldn't be afraid to touch them... or to straight up produce an R&B beat. I mean, Jay-Z rapped over one in "Venus vs. Mars". Shit had a bridge and everything.
Danja coulda been on some straight Joker and Harley Quinn shit with this beat, but after the intro it never came together. I gave Kevin Cossom's newest song a pass (apparently, synths are where Danja shines; if a song lacks them, then it's subpar at best), but this one will find it harder to get approval.
And, I wonder whatever happened to the West Coast style Danja was supposed to be developing.
Yeah a producer should be able to use synths and live instruments.
I agree with Fredrick.
This beat is FIYAH! Danja came correct again! He's one of the most consistent producers in the game right now. At least he changes his shit up instead of using recycled shit like Timbo. This is a very interesting production I really like it.
sorry, but I am not hyped about this one
man seriously? i hear about 20 seconds (if that) and can't play it anymore, horrible :(
not a fan of chopped n screwed hooks and Frederick & Venture are right its lacking synths most def
I'm wondering if me and the people who said this song is hot are listening to the same track! If anything, Danja came INcorrect on this! He's biting Drumma Boy whether he knows it or not.
Changing shit up my ass, this song is not a tribute to the "changing" that Danja's doing. Aside from Cali Stylz' "Get Me Some" (which is 20x better after hearing THIS track), this has to be the most uninspired shit Danja's put together this year. N***a didn't even flip the sample right lol.
i agree fred, but seriously this is crap... awful track, there is deffo too much going on...
I wouldn't say he is biting Drumma Boy. But this just sounds very generic, ya know?
I think Danja made a mistake giving this beat to Snoop. Ludacris woulda torn this apart!
Yeah, you could describe it as generic, but it seems to me that whenever he does try and switch it up and sound different, he still ends up receiving criticism in the end.
Saying that, I am getting a lil tired of the 808 drum sounds he keeps using. Not doing himself any favours in terms of standing out.
this is sorta wack
Why can't he just evolve his sound, instead of changing it? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
atleast the nigga's making money and tappin marcela while at it.. u bitches stop criticizing so much and change the game yaselves... LMAO @ timnmagoo3
I think that'd be unprofessional to mix business with pleasure don't cha think?
STICK TO TOPIC!!!
I like this track though it isnt different than all the other rap songs out right now
Thats true miguel. This doesn't fit Snoop in my opinion.
The Drumma Boy biting is evident... it's perhaps not as widespread as taking every cue from "Put On" and dumping it on one track, but from song to song, you'll notice a piecemeal of Danja and Drumma sounds. The intro for "We Run the Night" was obviously inspired...
Then again, who am I to say Danja's biting. He very well might have done the drum pattern before Drumma Boy gained steam. It's like how using the Prince sound, now more familiarly known as the "L.O.S. da Maestro" sound, helped Troy Taylor on Trey Songz's "Role Play" and "More than That".
I can see why people don't like it, but I think it's a fuckin' MEAN beat. Love the dissonance. It's just totally wrong for Snoop. Whoever said Ludacris was spot on. Hearing Luda over this beat would be riDICulous. I am getting tired of Danja using the 808 drums, though. I liked his old drums more than anyone else's drums, period.
