Whitney Houston's album leaked

As (probably) assumed, Whitney Houston's album "I Look To You" leaked a few days before the actual release date (28th of August).
And on the album, there are two tracks produced by Danja.
Check 'em out:

Whitney Houston - Nothin' But Love (prod. by Danja):

Whitney Houston - For The Lovers(prod. by Danja; written by Claude Kelly):

What do you think?

p.s: it could be that we're experimenting with new players now (without download option). Because it seems imeem has some issues. Any suggestions?

I like these tracks. Lovin the synths on 'For The Lovers'. They're not bangers but Whitney certainly likes to keep up with the times and Danja is one of those who for me can give her what she wants.

I lost count of the amount tracks Danja has produced lately and I've been impressed with how much variety there is in his sound. A thumbs up to these tracks. It just shows Danja can do anything on any genre even on his own.

i'm listening right now.

Danja is the Future!!!! He is so versatile! Upcoming Producers should use him as an inspiration by all means this guy has so much talent and he is soo young he will one day way down the road surpass all of Timbaland's accomplishments and landmarks! Danja is the FUTURE!

pleas try another media player, because i can't play these tracks

For the Lovers reminded me of Claude Kelly's Dancin' Alone when it started off. I have no complaints about Whitney's delivery on the track.

The tracks are tightt!!!!

note tho... according to the Chronicles "Nothin But Love" has additional production from Timbaland, No I.D. & Kanye!!! lool omg i like it!! Its nice and simple and a classic tune. XD pretty decent job :)))

Black Arrow said...

haha, you understood J Boogie wrong. He said: "also feature production from Timbaland, No ID and Kanye West... "

That means that on the album should be productions by them. But I guess those didn't make the cut. :(

Frederick said...

lmfao @ that additional production comment. we all know danja did that song by himself in his sleep and had lago tweak it the next morning.

songs are garbage, danja needs tim to make hits. whats he had on his own? nothing. where is jim beanz when you need him? danja has whitneys vocals sounding like shes a man. garbage, these songs not ever gonna be singles

DAMN THIS IS GOOOD.

Omg.

I really like "For The Lovers". Danja is crazy when he's inspired. It will be a huge hit, trust me.

You know it after the first minute.

It's not Danja, anon. It's Whitney. you know any real singer (I have to say real as a disclaimer against th fake ones) with a higher vocal range would have ripped these tracks. I, too, noticed the disparity between the vocals and the beats when I first listened in.

biggest danja fan ever BUT...not impressed with these tracks, the synths sound liek cheap typical shit thats going on in music nowadays, take it back to instruements...samples, like say... that chapter 3 waltz sample he used, or even better synths n more instersting drums like Break the ice, try something undanja like...like he did with love story (kat mcphee) nar man not feeling it danja, love ya stuff, but struggling to like it, danja is about being crazy different, and that song DOES NOT jump out at me like gimme more or get back..or any nelly, justin songs did...

comment back people, what u think?

I don't think Danja was trying to shine on these tracks. That's the point. With an artist like Britney or Justin, he can still bring his A+ game and not outshadow the talent. Danja simply decided not to do "I'm the Shit" mode, save that for Wyld Money. These songs are Danja tho, I don't see why anyone's complaining.

"O.O.C" by Mariah > "Million Dollar Bill". Anything on Lionel Richie's album by Tricky > "I Look to You". Salute is pretty hot though, but I dunno if it trumps any of the Richie tracks (bias).

It all depends on what the producer was called on to make and what he believed he could do with Whitney. Danja wrote all those hot songs you mentioned (save Nelly and Justin) with the Clutch or Corte Ellis, so there was really no holding back. On this album, he was with Claude Kelly and F. Garibay, which explains why he came different (& why "For the Lovers" sounds like "Dancin' Alone").

I personally think the Danja tracks would be hotter if they were faster. So, I sped up both the Danja tracks to 1.1x and 1.2x and they both got like 5 times hotter. Then when I slowed them back to regular speed... they're alright, but not POW. Most of us aren't accustomed to hearing songs that are supposed to be upbeat with slower than average BPMs.

McPhee, Nelly and Justin were 2006. Danja's been changing his style up since then. "sounds like typical shit" if anything Danja has a right, since he helped create that sound with Timbaland!

PS. wanna help a brother out? my ipod crashed and i lost half my Danja tracks!!!

Black Arrow said...

@Frederick: dude, how often does your IPod crash? lol always seein the words "my IPod crashed" from you hahahaha.
Don't you also have all your tracks on you PC or Mac? (make a post at the forum what tracks u still have so we can help u out)

@Anonymous05:27: I don't think Danja and/or Whitney wanted a typical crazy Danja track on the album. Imagine Whitney Houston singin tracks like KC's "You're A Star", Ciara's "Echo" or Danity Kane's "Strip Tease"....that just doesn't fit at all!
That's what I like about Danja. He always makes beats that fits (in most times) perfectly to the artists. And those extremely crazy beats just doesn't fit to Whitney.

three times in the past 8 months... now it's out of warranty and dead forever. I would have kept the songs on my computer, but for the past few months my iPod exceeded in memory any computer that I had to myself, and I still can't afford an external hard drive, with all these college costs. I'll try making that list soon, thanks!

"Nothin' But Love" is better.
